German Mobile Operators to Phase Out Chinese Technology by 2026
German mobile operators working in Germany have been instructed to completely eliminate the use of technological components from Chinese manufacturers by the end of 2026. According to reports from Bild, the Ministry of the Interior is currently in discussions with major operators such as Telekom, Vodafone and Telefonica regarding this matter.
Agreements on what is being called «anti-spy contracts» are expected to be signed in the near future, which will mandate operators to replace their current equipment, particularly from companies like Huawei, within the specified timeframe.
